Electrical Discharge Machining

is a manufacturing process that removes material using electrical sparks (discharges) instead of a cutting tool.

How it works

An electrode (usually copper or graphite) is brought close to the workpiece.

A controlled electrical discharge jumps across the gap, creating intense heat (up to 12,000°C).

This heat melts and vaporizes tiny portions of the material.

A dielectric fluid (special insulating liquid) cools and flushes away debris.
